America's Secret Recipes

Ok, these ones were the last one I bought, it is great! and not only 1, you got 2 of these babies for a price. The first and second book of america's secret recipes.
The author has spent 5 years of research n testing these recipes. And I believe its a time worth spending. This book is very good and very detailed.

They uncover secrets from many famous chain restaurants, like hard rock cafe, and California pizza. I shock myself everytime I make one of their recipes, and I have made plenty of them. My family loves them, my kids especially said that my cooking is just like the restaurants'.

I cannot be more happy than after seeing that look on their face. Now I can cook restaurant quality foods at home, no need for travel (I live far from downtown) and plus its so much cheaper to make your own meal. With the Global Crisis as it is now, we need every penny we can save, right?

Here's the score I'd give for this book:
 Tastes and resemblance – 5/5 stars
 Ease of Use – 4/5 stars
 Price – 5/5 stars
 Overall – 4.5/5 stars

I am very satisfied with this book. If you're serious about making copycat restaurant recipes, I highly recommend you to give America's Secret Recipes a try.

Real Restaurant Recipes.

This is my second book, I kind of like it, and I still use it up to this day. It has simple and complex recipes, but the images they gave make it simple to cook. :)

I especially love the Monte Cristo Sandwich. God it makes me drool just writing this blog..I need to write this fast so I can make one. ^^

Hmm, its not the fast food clone cook books, it has many great traditional restaurant menus like sandwiches, and soups and salads. I think if you want to open a restaurant, you may very well purchase this one and start your own, guaranteed satisfaction from your customers. :)

If I were to score it, I'll give it:

 Taste of Foods – 4.5/5 stars
 Ease of Use – 3.5/5 stars
 Price – 4/5 stars
 Overall – 4/5 stars

Sorry I need to make that sandwich now, will edit this post later if I could. =)
I think overall Real Restaurant Recipes have lots potential, and original recipes, but lack the fast food and famous restaurant recipes. Btw, this is the link to Real Restaurant Recipes.

Copy Cat CookBook

Learn to cook the highly guarded secrets behind dishes from
» Red Lobster
» Applebee's
» Chili's
» Olive Garden
» T.G.I. Fridays
» Outback Steakhouse
» Starbucks

OK, this is the first book that I bought. It claims to uncover secrets from your favorite restaurants so you can cook them in your kitchen.

Hmm, I actually bought it because I like the image cover, its simple and elegant. I tried several recipes, like the red lobster's and applebee's. They were OK. My kids ate like half of their plate. I wasn't very satisfied, so I look for another book, I'll write it in another post.

The author is quite generous, the book came with 3 free e-cook books, the crockpot, the holiday and the cookie cookbook. I love freebies. (who doesn't?)

I think if I were to score this book I would give it this way:

 Resemblance of taste – 3/5 stars
 Ease of Use – 3/5 stars
 Price – 4/5 stars (lots of freebies)
 Overall – 3/5 stars

I think to be fair, this is still a decent book. Should you want to buy it, go to Copy Cat Cookbook's page here.

Welcome to my Blog!

Hi. Welcome to my blog. My name is Luna, and I am a house wife. I love to cook for my family, and everyone seemed to like my cooking except my kids. The problem was they just love restaurant foods so much.
I admit it. No matter what recipe I use, I just cannot beat the taste of a restaurant cooking.
At one point I even submit defeat and add MSG to my cooking, but its not improving much of my food's taste.
I don't really want to add MSG like they do in the restaurant. It is not healthy, their health is my main concern.

Well that was in the past,
Thanks to internet, I found several cooking books that uncover the secrets of restaurant recipes. Those books well one in particular was so superb, I don't have to bring my kids to restaurants anymore. =P

Yes, in this blog I'll try to review them for you.
